History
The Legacy of Suwanee Fest
Suwanee Fest, formerly known as and fondly named “Suwanee Day,” started in May 1984 as a small, one-day celebration of community next to the old fire station on Main Street. As the City of Suwanee grew, so did the festival, moving locations to Town Center Park in 2004 to accommodate the increasing crowds. The pace didn’t slow as Suwanee Day evolved into a two-day festival in 2014, officially adopting the name Suwanee Fest.
Always a celebration of community, Suwanee Fest embraced the idea of theming each annual festival in 2016. Past themes include: superhero (2016), construction zone (2017), bicentennial (2018), circus (2019), pirate (2021), space (2022), wild wild west(2023), 80s (2024), and this year we are celebrating Jurassic-style!
Awards
Suwanee Fest is a nationally recognized, award-winning festival. Consistently named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society and repeatedly honored by the Southeast Festivals and Events Association (SFEA) as the Best Festival, Suwanee Fest is an experience you don’t want to miss. Even more, Suwanee Fest is planned and executed by two award-winning employees, both named “Event Professional of the Year” by the SFEA.

Yes. A table is provided at the side of the stage for Suwanee Fest entertainers to greet the public and sell merchandise following their performance. Suwanee Fest does not receive any percentage from the merchandise sales by entertainers.
Suwanee Fest is a family festival with no admission charge. With approximately 50,000 attendees during the two-day event and free publicity, performing at Suwanee Fest is a tremendous opportunity for any entertainers looking to market their talent and increase their fan base. With that said, only the headline acts (which perform the last concert on each day of the event) are typically paid.
Anyone who would like to be considered for the entertainment line-up for Suwanee Fest must submit an application. The Entertainment Committee will make its selections in June and the schedule will be posted in August. Please note that we receive a large amount of applications each year and we have a limited number of performance slots. We try to provide a diverse lineup of entertainment for audiences of all ages and interests. Therefore, preference is given to unique acts that fit well with that year’s theme as well as to those who have not performed at Suwanee Fest in the prior year. All selections and decisions by the Entertainment Committee are final.
Suwanee Fest is held at Suwanee Town Center Park, 330 Town Center Ave, Suwanee, GA 30024. Parking is available at the locations (Gwinnett Church, Shadowbrook Church, and Shawnee North Business Center). Check back soon for the completed map.
Suwanee Fest is an arts and crafts festival focused on handmade and hand-crafted items. However, businesses are welcome at the festival as sponsors. Businesses may contact Amy Doherty at 770-904-3387 to sign up as a sponsor.
In order to maintain the quality of the festival, we request that all vendors remain set up until the exhibitor area closes at 5:00 PM on Sunday. Vendors will receive a packet with details regarding booth breakdown information and park exit instructions.
Rides and games will use tickets that can be purchased on-site by cash or credit card. Tickets are approximately $1 each and most rides cost between $1 and $5. Prices and items are subject to change. Ride ticket sales will end 30 minutes prior to the festival close on each day.
Suwanee’s handbill ordinance permits individuals to place a flyer in the hand of attendees; however, they may not be left on windshields of cars or in stacks sitting out in the park. If you want to market your company, join us as a sponsor to get even more exposure during the event.
Admission to Suwanee Fest is free! That being said, you will probably want to bring along some money with you to purchase a unique piece of artwork, food and drink, and tickets for inflatable rides for the kids.
While dogs on leashes are permitted at City of Suwanee parks, Suwanee Fest might not be the best place to bring Fido or Buddy. Typically, there are a lot of people and the day can get really warm. That being said, the decision is yours. Keep in mind that pets are permitted on the shuttle buses!
Suwanee Fest is a rain-or-shine event. The festival is typically blessed with nice weather, but even if it rains, the festival – including the parade and entertainment – will go on. There is no rain date.
You may purchase beer or wine from our Town Center merchants who are licensed to sell or from our vendors within the festival. You may not bring your own alcohol into Town Center Park.
